All tours start and end at 11 Castlemona Avenue in Douglas & commence with a safety briefing & the fitting of helmets/waterproofs if required.

You will enjoy the spectacular views of the rugged cliffs and energetic seas crashing against them, watch the sea birds flying over Kitterland, be entertained by the seals on the rocks and wonder about life on the Calf of Man in years gone by. If the weather is mild, then a stroll to admire the view is in order, if it is a bit cloudy, then retreat to The Sound Café for a warming cuppa, before taking the scenic route back to Douglas feeling invigorated, refreshed and "at one" with the world!

FAQS

What should I wear?

Wrap up warm. There is nothing quite so exhilarating as riding on a Trike but even in the height of the summer it is surprising just how cold you can be when you are open to the elements. We can supply waterproofs, jackets, gloves and helmets, though you can wear your own if preferred. Although helmets are not compulsory, we do recommend their use so that you can benefit from the commentary from our knowledgeable drivers, and flies in the face at 60 mile an hour hurt! Please wear sensible warm footwear and bring your own shades.

Where do the tours start from?

All tours start at 11 Castlemona Avenue in Douglas, where we have limited parking spaces on a first come first served basis. We cannot pick up from any other locations as all of the gear required is located at our site in Castlemona Avenue. We may be able to arrange a drop-off at another location in the Douglas area. Please contact us for details or to arrange.

What if it rains?

Once booked, our tours will go ahead in most weather. However, on some occasions in the interest of safety and your enjoyment, the driver may deem it necessary to postpone the tour to another time.

What is the age limit?

There is no upper age limit, there are many Grandparents and Great Grandparents who have enjoyed this life enhancing experience and who talk about it for hours, if someone will listen! Check out the IOM Trike Tours video on You Tube showing the 100th Birthday trip of the TT Course for one lucky lady! The minimum age is 8 yrs and a responsible adult must accompany children who are between 8 yrs and 14 yrs.

Can I ride as a single passenger?

Yes. If you wish to enjoy the tour on your own that is fine. However, all tours are priced the same whether one or two passengers are on the tour. There are no reductions for singles.

My partner is disabled, can they go on a tour?

We are happy to provide tours to persons with disabilities so please contact us to discuss your requirements. We have taken many visitors staying at the Joey Dunlop Foundation Braddan House on tours as well as clients of Sailing for the Disabled & Manx Blind Welfare. We are happy to bring one of the Trikes along to you for a pre tour assessment visit where we will discuss your needs and safety, allowing you to try sitting on the Trike before you commit to booking a tour. We will do our best to accommodate you but may not be able to provide this service safely for every disability.

What if there is a road diversion on a set tour?

Unfortunately, from time to time our set tours may have to be rerouted due to road closures or diversions. Whilst this can be disappointing, especially if there was a particular view or place you wished to see, these circumstances are beyond our control. If we know about them in advance we will discuss this with you before we depart to decide on an alternative route. If we unexpectedly come across a road closure during the tour the driver will decide the most appropriate alternative route.

How & when do I pay?

Unless previously agreed between IOM Trike Tours and the customer, all pre-booked tours require a 50% deposit to be paid at the time of booking.

The balance must be paid in cash or by card on the day, prior the commencement of your tour.

If you are visiting the Island on holiday and booking your tour with very little notice, then the driver will accept your payment in cash at the start of the tour.

What if I have to cancel my booking?

If we receive a minimum of 24 hours notice a full refund can be given or your tour can be rescheduled at no extra cost.

Any last minute cancellations (24 hours or less), or failure to turn up for your allotted time, then no refund will be offered.

If you have any problems then please talk to us as soon as possible.

Who can drive the trike?

Only our designated drivers are insured to drive the Trikes.
